Down for the Count
fifteen empty thread spools and four empty thread cones December 2020 |
I was able to do a variety of sewing in 2020, and thanks to weekly FaceTime calls, my sewing machine was humming most of the year.
These empty spools/cones allowed me to make nearly twenty-four Quilts of Valor and twelve presentation cases, one hundred face masks, one personal quilt (Pinwheel Puzzle), one hospice quilt (Bricks and Stepping Stones), and two days of sewing during a community sew day.
As 2020 comes to a close, it's time to wind some bobbins, oil the machine, and change the needle because I think 2021 is going to be another good year to sew.
Wow that is amazing!!
ReplyDeleteNancy, I am just so amazed and awed at your ability and get it done attitude...congratulations on your year of giving!
ReplyDeleteWow! That's a lot of empty spools. I've never kept track but it would be interesting to know how many I go through. I'm hoping that 2021 is a good year for most everything, but sewing is a great start.
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of thread! It was all put to very good use and I will be happy to see what beauty you create in 2021.
ReplyDeleteI am in awe of your productivity this year Nancy. I'm never good at keeping track of what I make. I say I'm going to and I start out well, but then I forget to write things down.
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid you're right about this year being an isolated year too. I better stock up on yarn!
Blessings,
Betsy
100 face masks. Nancy! That's amazing. I love that you love to sew and I Get to watch the results!
ReplyDeleteGodnessme, thtsxa wonderful list of achievements!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the reminder that I need to oil my machine!
ReplyDeleteI don't even know what to say. You are so productive -- and so generous with your beautiful works.
ReplyDeleteSoon you will need a new machine!
ReplyDeleteThat’s an interesting group of spools. I’m hoping to use up a spool or two during the next 3 days. I know I was using a lot of spools until I got two cones of thread for piecing. One of them will be empty by the end of January. Or so I think!
ReplyDeleteWowza! What a great way to evaluate this year--according to quilts and not how many things didn't go right!
