Tool Box Cowl #2

Image
Tool Box cowl #2 November 2017 I was able to knit another Tool Box cowl with the scraps. I knit fewer rows in the stockinette sections because I only had 12 grams of each color, and I used nearly every gram. The cowl is only 8 inches high, but still enough height to be an adequate neck warmer. unblocked cowl has circumference of 24 inches I don't think I'll block this cowl. Tool Box #1 can be seen here and here .

Razzle Dazzle Socks

Razzle Dazzle socks women's size 9 November 2017 The yarn for this pair was obtained in the Grab Bag special I ordered from Mary Maxim in September. I love the bright colors. This yarn had one of the longest pattern repeats of any yarn I've ever knit, and I lucked out and came pretty close to knitting a matching pair. Pattern :  Ribbed cuff socks Needles : US size 2 Yarn : Red Heart - Heart and Sole (Razzle Dazzle #3965)

Cowboy Joe Socks

women's size 10 October 2017 Ellen ( The Ellen Report ) sent me a surprise package  filled with yarn. I knew immediately that the brown and gold yarn would soon become a pair of socks. I'm a University of Wyoming alum, and the bold brown and gold yarn was pleading to become Cowboy Joe socks. I often caught myself humming the popular UW fight song as I knit. "He always sings raggy music to his cattle as he swings back and forward in his saddle on a horse . . ." Cowboy Joe (a shetland pony)runs the field  with his handlers after each UW Cowboy score. The tradition started in the 1950s and is still practiced today Cowboy Joe socks Yarn : Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock (Bee Stripe  #202) Needles : US size 2 Stitch count:          64 stitches - ribbed cuff         60 stitches - foot

Thick & Thin Socks - revisited

Image
Noro neutral socks October 2017 I started knitting this pair before I went to Colorado (the cuffs, heel flaps, and gussets were finished), and I completed the foot and toe sections before the road trip to Durango. Even though the sock on the right looks larger, it is the same size as the sock on the left. Knitting notes can be found here Dee and Vera gave me the nudge I needed to revive my sock knitting mojo. Since beginning the   I ♥ Fall Knit-Along on October 1st, I've knit four pair of socks and have two more pair on the needles.

I ♥ Fall Knit-Along - revisited

I ♥ Fall Knit-Along socks October 2017 I finished the second sock at Marilyn's house on a snowy Monday afternoon, and two days later snapped the photo on the leaves that dropped off after the storm. Knitting notes can be found here , here , and here .

I ♥ Fall Knit-Along

September 2017 Progress on the I ♥ Fall KAL has been slow: I've been distracted with other knitting and sewing projects. The dark yarn is difficult to knit without good light, and I've dropped several stitches in poor light conditions. Pattern : ribbed cuff - socks Needles : US size 2 Yarn : Zauberball Crazy (#2312 - Piano Bar)           based on the yarn in the ball, I am surprised it is knitting up so dark           The yarn was introduced in  this earlier post Stitch count: 64 for the ribbed cuff, 60 after the gusset decrease Heel : Square Heel (aka - Dutch Heel) from Heels by Number The weather has taken a definite turn in recent days - cold, damp, and rainy. Snow has fallen in the high country and seems to be working its way down the mountain. I am hoping that Fall will not allow Winter to dominate during this transition.

Crazy Zauberball yarn Color 2312 - Piano Bar Today is the official start of the  I ♥ Fall Knit-Along , hosted by Dee at  Pointy Little Sticks . I found three skeins of yarn in my stash that would be appropriate for the KAL and decided to use the Crazy Zauberball yarn I purchased in June at Cowgirl Yarn in Laramie, WY. The leaves on my Ash trees are gradually turning gold and falling. These trees are typically the first in the neighborhood to change color. It's fun to see the yarn colors that others have picked: some bright and colorful; others, muted like the skein I selected. Fall color in this area is mostly gold and sometimes a burst of red. I am going to knit a pair of plain socks (no lace or patterns) as I prefer not to have a pattern on my socks.
