Making Plans

quilting kits  January 2022 It’s probably obvious to regular readers that my sewing/quilting has been nonexistent since early November. I had six QOV finished but waited until after the holidays to request a volunteer longarmer. I didn’t want to have a larger stockpile of quilts, so I picked up my knitting needles instead. As of last week, two of the six QOV are in Texas (thank you, Linda S.) being quilting, and two more are in the request queue. I feel more comfortable starting some new projects.  I pulled all the panels I have (thanks, Sue O.) and paired them with patterns/ideas and tucked them into project bags. I pulled scraps and orphans that have been around too long and found patterns. They also went into project bags. I numbered the bags 1 - 12, rolled the die, and assigned them a month.  January’s project will use four printed blocks (thank you, Connie H.). I have the fabric pulled for the pattern, so it’s ready to cut.  If I finish a project quickly, I’m gi...

January 2017 As I turned the page on the calendar this morning, I was reminded of the list of "possibilities and dreams" that I made in January. As of today, I have fulfilled three of the stars on the list: dyeing yarn with Kool-Aid, sharing a cup of tea with blogging friends, and reading a Rosemunde Pilcher book. As for the other dreams and possibilities:     •  I dislike knitting with charts, so to fulfill that star, I need to make a conscious effort which I haven't done.     •  I keep chipping away at my yarn and fabric stash, but unfortunately, I keep enhancing both of them, too. No real progress has been made in 2017, despite my efforts     •  The key to the purple star is the word "someday." I thought the trip was going to be a possibility in 2016, but my travel companion died unexpectedly. Knee surgery in 2017 will delay the trip once more, so hopefully "someday" will be in 2018 Sooo, at the end of five months, I have com...

Want to Join Me?

Image
I don't like to make resolutions, but I do like to think about general goals (dreams) for the new year. I tweaked a form I found online and added my "wishes" and "dreams" for 2017 in the designated stars. I'll check my progress in May or June. The blank form is provided below if you want to join me - nothing too technical - let's just have fun. Print the form, write your ideas, take a photo and share on your blog. If you have the capability to edit on your computer, then go for it! Dee, mentioned on her blog that PicMonkey is a good resource for adding your goals to the template - might be worth trying.
