My Lucky Day

Image
pre-loved quilt from Wedding Dress Blue August 2017 I was notified on August 6, 2017 that my name had been drawn for the Pre-loved Quilt Giveaway on the Wedding Dress Blue blog. The quilt arrived last week, and I am beyond thrilled with how it looks on my sofa. It's the perfect size for napping, reading or knitting on a chilly day. Deanna included three pillow covers (I don't have that size of pillow forms yet) that match the quilt. Humbug Bags' Giveaway

Image
Oilcloth Humbug bags I was recently invited to sew with a group that meets at the Lander library each month, so last week, I loaded my sewing machine and supplies and drove to Lander. The project for September was Humbug bags . The bag was inspired by an English sweet, called a humbug . I'd seen the bags before, but had never made one. I completed a small bag from the supplies I took to the sew-in as well as bought some kits for larger bags from Mary, the group's coordinator. Some of the bags were made as gifts, and the ones pictured above are my gifts to four lucky readers. The bags are approximately 12 inches long and are constructed with oilcloth. They are a good size for knitting or other crafts as well as a ditty bag for travel. If you want to be included in the drawing for a bag, tell me in your comment which one appeals to you. The winners will be posted on Monday, September 22, 2014, so you have until noon on Sunday to enter the drawing.

Squishy Mail

Loot from Bridget's 7th blogiversary Recently, Bridget at The Ravell'd Sleave  hosted a giveaway to celebrate her blog's 7th anniversary, and I was one of the seven winners. Check out what was in the squishy package I received last week: a great book, filled with wonderful ideas, tips, and patterns, two skeins of green Khroma (Baby Alpaca and Merino - total 200 yds), and Rowan's purelife Revive (recycled silk, cotton and viscose - total 274 yds). I'm considering knitting a scarf from the Revive and a cowl, hat, or mitts from the Khroma. Any pattern suggestions? Thank you, Bridget for these wonderful goodies, and Happy Blogiversary! Pop over and check out her blog.

Heading Out

March in Wyoming usually means WIND and lots of it. Even with the wind, it is a great time to get outside to walk or to work in the yard. When I found a partial skein of Manos del Uruguay in my yarn basket, I decided to make a headband to wear on my morning walks. Since the headband is a quick knit, I made two.
