Ever Vigilant

Image
Forever Vigilant   63 x 73 inches Quilt of Valor #261 No pattern was used for this framed panel quilt. The black frame is 2 inches finished; the red frame, 3 inches finished; the beige frame, 4 inches finished; the blue frame, 6 inches finished. Since the panel is so large, I felt it would make more of a statement on its own.

Working on the Alphabet

Friday, I pulled some fabric from my stash and began cutting pieces for the next Quilt of Valor.  I still have a couple of large patriotic panels that Sue and Bert donated . It's difficult to come up with ideas of what to do with the large panels, so when I saw a recent post of Cindy (Delighted Hands) , I knew the pattern ( Center of Attention ) was perfect.  Once I located the pattern online (there are a LOT of patterns named, Center of Attention), I quickly ordered it.  The fabric is all cut, except for the border, so I am ready to begin sewing.

American Pride III

Image
American Pride III 58 x 74 inches Quilt of Valor #213 American Pride III was made with a panel donated by Sue and Bert O. I started the quilt at a recent retreat but could not finish it there because I forgot to cut some of the required pieces. I finished the quilt at home last week.  Pattern : American Dreams by Beth Logan (Henry Glass & Co.) The free pattern is no longer available on their website.

Weekend Visitors

seven patriotic panels and yardage April 2021 Sue and Bert, good friends from Riverton, came to visit on Thursday and Friday. It was such a treat to give them a big hug, visit not stop, share a meal, and play Mexican Train an entire afternoon. Time flew by and our visit ended much too quickly. They gave me a generous donation of seven patriotic panels and yardage to make more Quilts of Valor. Several of the panels are new designs and two are quite large. It will be fun to turn them into quilts in the coming weeks/months. Thank you Sue and Bert for helping me create QOV to honor seven veterans. I appreciate your generosity and your continuing friendship.
