Central Wyoming College faculty and graduating class (click image to enlarge) yellow star is over my head May 1971 Central Wyoming College  (CWC) is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, and I am proud to be an alum of this small community college. By the time I graduated from high school (1969), CWC had graduated two classes. To increase the student body in those early years when the college had no dormitories, the college paid students to drive. Having the option of living at home and attending college was an attractive proposition. I received my Associates' Degree in 1971 and was a member of the third graduating class of Central Wyoming College. More about the college's history can be found on Wikipedia . After graduation, I attended the University of Wyoming (UW) in Laramie, Wyoming, and graduated in the summer of 1973 with my Bachelor's Degree in education, with minors in theater and speech. (This week I'm featuring some random close-up photos) photo taken through an art sculpture Central Wyoming College campus Riverton, WY November 2015 Central Wyoming College (CWC) opened in 1968, and I enrolled in classes the Fall of 1969. The original campus consisted of three buildings: one housed the student union, administration offices, and the library; the largest building contained classrooms for the core subjects and a lecture hall around the perimeter and faculty offices in the center; the smallest building housed the maintenance office. The campus has grown considerably in the last 48 years. It now has two dorms, an apartment building, a large fine arts building, the original classroom building (remodeled and expanded) and now attached to the original administration building, large library, student center, book store, gymnasium, small theatre, studios and offices for the Wyoming PBS station, and a new health science building . source Health and Science Center Dedication Central Wyoming College Riverton, WY September 20, 2013 It was exciting to attend the dedication of the new $18 million building on the CWC campus on Friday and to take the guided tour through the various classrooms. Additional photos can be seen at the bottom the County 10 post .  view from the control room of one of the nursing simulation lab The mannequins are programmed to give nursing students simulated hospital experiences. Four simulation labs are available in this area of  the building. In another section is an eight-bed nursing education  room that can also be used as an emergency hospital.  This "patient" was being monitored by a nursing instructor. The mannequin was blinking rapidly as we watched her care for him.  This simulation lab had a mother who had just given birth.
