Silver Lining - update
progress on Silver Lining hat December 2020 |
Now that I am nearly finished with the first section of the hat pattern, it is clear that my worries about being large enough for an adult head were unnecessary. I did change needle sizes after finishing the decreases: the crown was knit with size 2 needles, and the rest of the hat was knit with size 4 needles.
I have about an inch or two to knit before starting the "silver lining." This has been a great mindless knit project.
I am so surprised at how the colors blended, they seemed to clash but now it is a perfect combination.
ReplyDeleteIt's very pretty!
ReplyDeleteLooking good!
ReplyDeleteThat yarn really is pretty.
ReplyDeleteNice hat! As Elizabeth Zimmerman said, "If the hat comes out a different size, you can always find a different head to fit it." ...or something like that.
ReplyDeleteI like it! Those colors really work well together.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
Nice use of left over yarn. I’m to the making pompon stage for a doll hat. But haven’t gotten back to it for a week or so. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteI paid a crazy about of money to a very famous dyer for a colorway that looks just like what you are getting with your scraps. To add insult to injury I had to stand in line for over an hour to hand over that money.
ReplyDeleteThat is one very pretty hat Nancy! I'm so glad you shared the link to the pattern. I plan/hope/think that come the New Year I will be knitting some hats, head bands and fingerless mitts to put away for next Christmas. I'm full of intentions (good & bad)...we'll see if it happens!!
ReplyDeleteOh great colors Nancy! i love when the hat measuring is a perfect one! I have some issues with bottom up hats.
ReplyDeleteSometimes, mindless is the best because it is so calm to have your fingers working away while you can be very far away! The hat is beautiful!
