Wind Gauge

Wyoming wind gauge
Riverside, Wyoming
September 2018
Wyoming humor at its best. While the anvil suspended from the chain was made of wood, I'm sure Wyoming wind could actually get an iron anvil to swing on a chain if it were placed in a good location.

Wind farms (wind turbines spaced in wind prone areas to capture wind energy for electricity) are abundant in central and southern Wyoming.

  2. Funny!!! Daughter was so amazed by how many windmill things she saw out west. We don't see them much here. Only up in the mountains. They are an amazing sight.

  3. Ha! We have a bit of wind here but I sure hope it couldn't blow an anvil around!

  4. We get a surprising amount of wind here. I can't have a backyard fabric gazebo because of it... and I can barely keep a patio umbrella for more than a season!
The last couple of years we've seen a huge increase in wind turbine...a lot of people are opposed, but I think clean, green energy is a great idea. I'd love to see more solar energy here too!

  5. That IS funny, but the winds out here in the west are something to behold. It’s nothing to have 35-40 mph winds on a regular basis.
    Blessings,

  6. Holy moly ..... if an IRON anvil starts swinging, I'm guessing we should all duck and cover! LOL
