Live, On Stage

Fremont County Symphony
Spring concert
2014
During the fall and winter, the local communities (Lander and Riverton) offer an abundance of opportunities to attend live concerts and performances. The community college, the public schools, the County Symphony, and the Community Concerts Association provide entertainment, making the long, dark season alive with music and live performances.

I am eager to see this year's schedule of concerts.

Do you attend concerts in your community during the fall and winter?

  1. You've inspired me to start!
I have not been attending anything in Illinois.
Happy to be able to leave you a comment Nancy!

  3. I do enjoy concerts but don't attend as many as I would like. Same with theater productions. We have a great local theater scene plus I've often driven the hour to Sioux Falls or 5 hours to Minneapolis or Omaha for a play.

  4. I used to go to the Philadelphia Orchestra all the time as a kid...now it's a pain in the butt to go downtown. But, my son has been volunteering with the PA Philharmonic and we plan to attend some of their events which are more local. We also used to go to the Bucks County Playhouse several times a year when I was growing up...we should go back there. We do have another local theatre that we have gone to several times. It's a lot of fun!

  5. I don't enjoy fighting our downtown traffic and trying to find parking for concerts. But, when I do make the effort I do have a good time. When we lived in Nebraska I used to sing with the Omaha Symphony chorus. Now that was a lot of fun!

  6. I love winter concerts and plays at local colleges and the university. We used to enjoy Shakespeare in the park during the late summer months when it began to cool off, but they closed the park and tore down the band shell. Beats me what they were thinking.

  7. No, but we should. We live only a mile from the University of Central Florida and they have an AWESOME music department.

  8. We don't tend to go but we are going to be singing in a community group this year. Absolutely an OUTSTANDING director runs it and we're looking forward to it.
