Ditto what Sara said and Betsy. On the other hand -- they don't seem to build expensive, massive houses that fall into rivers/oceans/seas etc when the tide rises, or a hurricane comes by or river floods or ....
Even from 1979, it's incredible how very different most of the world lives from the way we in the U.S. live and our expectations of what our needs are.
