finished slouch hat and a second on the needles September 2016 |
Even though, I've added new yarn to my stash recently, I'm still working on Slashing the Stash. This skein of sock yarn has been in my stash for a long time: the color way is no longer available. The more I moved the skein around in the stash, the more I knew it had to go, so it became a slouch hat for the donation box.
Pattern: Basic Beanie by Martine Ellis (Ravelry link)
Needles: US size 3
Yarn: Knit Picks Stroll (Watermelon)
Do you also have yarn in your stash that provokes thoughts of "why did I buy this?"
It does look like watermelon:)
ReplyDeleteI like it:)
ReplyDeleteThat's a great hat! Love the color...wish it were still available.
ReplyDeleteI like the hat! I have lots of yarn like that, but usually not the yarn I buy myself. Because everyone at church knows I knit and crochet a LOT, when someone wants to get rid of yarn, (or someone passes away), I inherit it. Some of it is pure junk yarn but I feel guilty getting rid of it. This winter I need to be brutally honest and just chuck a lot of it.

Far too many of them. But, these watermelon hats are very cute!! Love how the yarn kind of swirled.
ReplyDeleteI like it, it seems to be a cheerful hat! :)
ReplyDeletePretty colors! I do have fabric in my stash that I look at and say "what was I thinking?". And I've been working my way through a big box of fabric donated to me by a guild members who moved. Most of that has been in the same category, but I've donated a LOT of it to a local gal who does quilts for the VA home and hospital.
ReplyDeleteI love the yummy colors in the hat! This is such a great stash busting project and I need to do more hats for donation.
ReplyDeleteOhh Hats! I have somewhere you can send more donations ifyou wish. New store near me and they all get used!!! Love yours
ReplyDeleteNice striping on this hat. You are making progress on using up some yarn. On the other hand it is nice to have new yarn to play with too.
