Hexagon Table Mat - revisited

machine-quilting on table mat
September 2016
My hexagon (hex) project is finished, compete with machine-quilting. I have to admit that the process was fun, but somewhat awkward for my large hands, and my hand-stitching is far from perfect and invisible. I learned something new, and I'm pleased with the result.

Thanks, Ingrid for the instruction and the templates!  You encouraged me to try something new.

  7. Turned out very pretty! A small project is perfect for trying out a new technique. I often forget that it's OK to make something small rather than a whole quilt.

  9. Very pretty --- the border quilting looks like little Monopoly houses.

  10. Recently I saw the cutest pillow done with hexies. There were rows of hexies at the top and several rows at the bottom and a darling embroidery (hand) in the middle. It was cute enough for me to save the picture and contemplate actually making something similar. (note to self -- do NOT start any new projects yet.) Yours turned out great.
