Hexagon Table Mat - revisited

machine-quilting on table mat
September 2016
My hexagon (hex) project is finished, compete with machine-quilting. I have to admit that the process was fun, but somewhat awkward for my large hands, and my hand-stitching is far from perfect and invisible. I learned something new, and I'm pleased with the result.

Thanks, Ingrid for the instruction and the templates!  You encouraged me to try something new.

  1. Very pretty! I love the dark blue fabric.

  2. It is very different and am sure it was a challenge.

  3. It turned out great. Love the colors!

  4. You have much patience! It turned out lovely.

  5. Absolutely beautiful! The colors and design are so pleasing. If my little Christmas quilts turn out a tenth as pretty I will be thrilled!!

  6. So pretty! Beautiful work and something very practical as well. I love it, too.

  7. Turned out very pretty! A small project is perfect for trying out a new technique. I often forget that it's OK to make something small rather than a whole quilt.

  8. So beautiful!!...Now are you going to make it a set:)!!

  9. Very pretty --- the border quilting looks like little Monopoly houses.

  10. Recently I saw the cutest pillow done with hexies. There were rows of hexies at the top and several rows at the bottom and a darling embroidery (hand) in the middle. It was cute enough for me to save the picture and contemplate actually making something similar. (note to self -- do NOT start any new projects yet.) Yours turned out great.

I love comments!
