Diamonds in the Rough

Diamonds in the Rough
63 x 79 inches
Quilt of Valor #204

Diamonds in the Rough was finished last week, and used a LOT of 2.5 inch scraps. The Missouri Star pattern, Sunny Skies, turns even the most random colors into an attractive quilt. I used a 2.5 inch white frame around the center blocks, and added a 5.5 inch border on all sides.

If you look closely, you will see three stars as well as three diamonds.

  3. Another great way to use up your scraps Nancy. Like the last one, this one really pops - the white does that for me. Nice one!!

  6. I just found a bunch of 4 patches that started with 2.5” squares. I immediately thought it this quilt. I think I might continue to sew 4 patches and then make 16 patches. Maybe I have enough for a quilt like yours.

  7. This is stunning and looks almost like a 3-D effect. Such a great use of scraps. I'm like Nancy though, I found the diamonds easily but my eyes aren't adjusting to the stars for some reason.
    Blessings,
    Betsy
