Diamonds in the Rough
Diamonds in the Rough 63 x 79 inches Quilt of Valor #204 |
Diamonds in the Rough was finished last week, and used a LOT of 2.5 inch scraps. The Missouri Star pattern, Sunny Skies, turns even the most random colors into an attractive quilt. I used a 2.5 inch white frame around the center blocks, and added a 5.5 inch border on all sides.
If you look closely, you will see three stars as well as three diamonds.
This is a fantastic balance of scrap and space--turned out brilliantly!
ReplyDeleteWow this turned out great!
ReplyDeleteWowza! So pretty and a great scrap buster! I love it.
ReplyDeleteAnother great way to use up your scraps Nancy. Like the last one, this one really pops - the white does that for me. Nice one!!
ReplyDeleteOh, wow!!!! That is a show stopper!
ReplyDeleteWell I saw diamonds! No stars perhaps I was searching too hard! It is a lovely quilt!
ReplyDeleteI just found a bunch of 4 patches that started with 2.5” squares. I immediately thought it this quilt. I think I might continue to sew 4 patches and then make 16 patches. Maybe I have enough for a quilt like yours.
ReplyDeletePS. Your quilt looks spectacular!
DeleteThis is stunning and looks almost like a 3-D effect. Such a great use of scraps. I'm like Nancy though, I found the diamonds easily but my eyes aren't adjusting to the stars for some reason.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
