Multiple Projects

ninety half-square triangles trimmed and squared
March 2021

The only things I've actually accomplished in the sewing room lately are piles of HSTs - 120 HSTs last week and 90 HSTs this week. The HSTs are for two Quilts of Valor that I'm currently making.

This week's HSTs required making six of each fabric, so I made them two at a time. Last week's project required making multiple HSTs of the same fabrics, so I made eight at a time. I was pleasantly surprised that each method resulted in very little waste and each unit squared accurately without any trouble.

  2. Can't wait to see what you are making with them. The "8 at a time" method of making HST surprised me when I've tried it. The "4 at a time" works well too.

  3. I'll have to give that method a look as I am terrible at making HST.

  4. Hsts can be time consuming, so that's a good bit of work in my books!

  5. You are amazing with the production you do on the quilts. Bravo! I took 4 crocheted lapghans to the Veteran's Home this morning on the way to get my vaccine. Yesterday I delivered a big bag of baby hats and blankets to the hospital. I'm finishing up all of my deliveries here before I leave. It sounds like you're getting the winds we had last night. It's still blowing today but not nearly as bad. 70 mph gusts yesterday evening and 50-55 mph sustained winds. Not fun in an RV but it did really well.
    Have a great Monday Nancy.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  7. That has been a very good collection of HST's!!! It's always fun to arrange them, too, in a quilt!

  10. I like making my hst oversized and then trimmed down. Although I like it even better when I cut them with the Go dies. But I don’t have all that many different sizes. You’ve got a great start on your next 2 quilts. I might need to take a lesson from you. B
