Julie's Socks
women's size 4 1/2 February 2021 |
Julie (JulieKQuilts) and I have read each other's blogs for years. She is a scrappy quilter, a compassionate nurse, and an online friend. She told me recently that she tried to knit a pair of socks and quit in frustration. Julie wanted to send the yarn to me, and I told her I would gladly knit her a pair of socks from the yarn.
Julie has teeny tiny feet and knitting the socks didn't take any time at all. I just wish that I had completed them before the cold snap hit Texas because Julie didn't have any heat in her house. To keep warm, she wrapped herself and her poodle (Rosie) in some of the beautiful quilts she makes.
That was a sweet gesture.
ReplyDeleteYes that was a very kind and thoughtful thing to do for your friend. Hope Texas is moving forward after their awful winter experience.
ReplyDeleteI AM THE JULIE IN THIS POST!! lol!! I just adore those socks...I meant for Nancy to make herself socks from that yarn, and what did she do? She knitted socks for me and sent the yarn back that way! I am so blessed...thank you so much, Nancy!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's usually a joy to make something for someone you care about, so I understand. Online friends are special gifts these days.
ReplyDeleteHow kind and thoughtful! Such a lovely pair of socks, and of course Julie is thrilled.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful socks Nancy. Reading Julie's comment, it sounds as though she's pretty excited about them. It was a wonderful thing to do.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
So sweet of you to knit her socks! They are so pretty too!
ReplyDeleteWhat adorable little socks. How generous of you!
ReplyDeleteLovely socks!
ReplyDeleteNice job, Nancy! I think everyone in TX was caught off guard by their cold snap! I wear socks all year round--A/C makes me appreciate the warm woolens on my toes at night!
ReplyDeleteThats awesome Nancy! And the socks are beautiful
ReplyDeleteI love the colors in that yarn. You have great heart — always doing so much for others.
ReplyDeleteHow nice! You are right, she does have tiny feet. I thought at first they were for a child! Such a pretty color, too.
