Soup Weather

chicken noodle soup
October 2017
As the temperatures decrease, my desire for hot soup increases. Recently I made a batch of chicken noodle soup in the crock pot. I love adding big chunks of carrots and celery.

What's your favorite Fall or Winter soup?

  1. I love a creamy potato soup. I don't make it or have it often though. Hum, not soup weather this week. We're back up in the 80's through the weekend.

  2. Oh that soup looks perfect!

I love creamy potato and creamy mushroom soup the best. But I'm not sure I've met any soup ever that I didn't like at all ...

  3. I'm a huge soup fan. Yours looks delicious. I love corn chowder (which I make stove-top), curried shrimp & potato (also stove-top) and I make a vegetable beef soup in the crock pot. Oh, and home-made lentil soup too...with home-made bread. Yummy! My tummy is growling...

  4. Looks delicious! I love a good bowl of soup but am really bad at making good soup from scratch. Even the crock pot recipes seem to fail for me.

  7. Chicken and dumplings is my favorite to make.

A good chunky tomato soup (with a grilled cheese) is my favorite when we go to the bistro for lunch.

  8. Oh man, I love soup. We are having a warm spell right now, but I eat soup no matter the weather. Ramen, Pho, Chicken Noodle, Thai :) It might be cultural, but soup is not about weather for me. My family prefers brothy soups to creamy ones, but personally, I'll eat it all. LOL

  9. There is something very nice and comforting about that first bowl of soup when the season changes. We eat lots of soup in the cool weather. Our favourited is probably ham hock with vegetables. A close second would be vegetable and lentil soup. Yumoh!

  10. I have a foolproof warning of cool weather - my husband starts stalking the kitchen making dramatic slurping noises and checking for minestrone. He would eat it every day if possible! I love all soups, but lobster bisque and corn chowder are particular favorites.

  11. I love home made soup (French Onion and Leek and Potato are favourites) and and I love my crockpot. In fact, a piece of corned beef is simmering away in the crockpot for our evening meal. I add halved carrots and parsnips too, and make a tasty mustard sauce to serve with it.
