Land of the Free

Land of the Free
Quilt of Valor
57 x 72  inches
While organizing scraps in December, I found some orphan quilt blocks. Luckily, I had just enough of the rail fence blocks left over from Stars of Stripes and Firecrackers to frame the center panel of Land of the Free.

Land of the Free is Quilt of Valor #86

  3. Very pretty and how lucky there were enough of the rail fence blocks. My luck - would have been 1 short. :-)

  4. Wish I 'd have known while my father in law was alive. We just went through many of his newpaper clippings and Navy memoriabilia. He'd have loved a quilt in his honor!

  5. I am currently quilting a top that has the rail fence/piano key border. I also butted the corners. Now I am at a loss as to how to quilt the corners. Sigh. I guess I'll come up with something.

  7. Love it! You sure have made some treasures, Nancy. And oh, about yarn bombing, I agree that the yarn could be used for a better purpose as you said, but I think that they (the YB folk) are trying to say that knitting is also an art form. The trees in Magnolia all had small signs attached that said things like, "Show Kindness," Share Warmtn, etc.

  8. You are finishing up quilts like crazy!!!

I guess that is helped by the cold, winter weather. Sure is good to stay inside and stitch.
