Koto Performance

Koto players
October 2018
In addition to the Taiko performance, the Japanese Festival included a few traditional Japanese songs played on the Koto. I actually remembered the songs, and they triggered some wonderful memories.

The instrument, similar to a harp, has a distinctive sound.

  5. I'm so glad you have you Japan memories. I think Zach is missing Mexico and his friends quite a bit right now :(
he will always have those memories and so so many photos. Like your Friday photos! May be he can show his classes a Friday photo. I will ask him and see what he thinks.

  6. Beautiful! My son saw the Anthony Bourdain episode on Japan and right away signed up to teach English there for a year. He loved it. Thankfully he came home right before the tsunami or I wouldn't have survived it. Of course then he went to work at the Navy Yard just in time for the mass shooting incident. It's no wonder I have all this gray hair.

  7. Alex took us to see and listen to traditional Koto performances in Tokyo the last time we visited. It was beautiful and haunting at the same time.
    Blessings,
    Betsy
