Scrappy Striped Socks

Scrappy Striped Socks
July & August 2016
Scrappy Striped Socks are being knit with five different yarns (all superwash wool) that have been taking up space in my stash.

     •  cuff was knit with the remnants of Ragg Socks

     •  heel flap knit with an oddball skein used for toes and heels

     •  burgundy and teal stripes knit with remnants of Emma's Cowl

     •  grey stripes knit with remnants of Single Skein Socks II

I've started the cuff on the second sock, so I don't forget the details of this pair of scrappy-striped socks.

Needles: US 2 -- 16 inch circulars

Stitch count: 64 for cuff and a longer gusset, and 56 for the foot.

  2. Nice! Do you splice the ends? If so, how?

  4. I love the scrappy socks and I love that you mixed yarns! I've never been brave enough to do that but I will surely try it. Anything to reduce stash.

  5. Nice!! You do a great job of mixing colours!!
I always like to knit things like socks together.... It seems the second is always slightly off if I don't!!

  6. These look great. Like Judy, I'm wondering how you add the yarn - splice?

  7. That's turning out great! Good job "matching" the odd balls to the cuff yarn.

  8. You win the prize for using up your yarn leftovers! Or at least making a dent in them. Nice looking sock.

  9. You do so well with all kinds of scraps, Nancy! I think they are great and I like how a little bit of previous projects are infused into the socks. Hope you are well!

  10. All put together like that it reminds me of Kroy sock yarn. Good color choices!
