No Hum Bugs Allowed

So far, I've managed to avoid the holiday Hum Bug. I bought a small tree at Goodwill, placed some other decorations around the apartment, and have used the Advent wreath and devotional book every night since December 1st. As I write this post, Christmas carols are playing on the laptop and the virtual fire is streaming on Netflix.

Have you escaped the Hum Bug this year?

  2. Oh I just love your little tree. Sounds and looks to me like you definitely do not have the hum bugs. I don't put up a big tree anymore and if we stay home for Christmas I will put up the 3ft tree I also bought from Goodwill a few years ago. This year we are gone, but I did put up a few decorations.

  3. I love your tree! So pretty and festive and perfect for an apartment. Fletch went out and got our tree yesterday (before the *weather* we are having this week. I need him to bring up the tub of Christmas decorations from the basement so I can get some decorating done! No hum bugs here.

  5. We don't do a LOT of decorating ....no tree. But, the lights are up outside and my Christmas decorations inside are put around. Our decorations are more of a WINTER celebration ---- lots of snowmen and penguins. No Humbug here.

  6. I like to decorate for Christmas but my husband could care less. He sees holidays as "just another day".

  7. I think your tree is beautiful and it sounds as though you definitely don't have the humbug spirit.
Although I'm missing the kids and our Christmas will be very quiet this year, I'm trying to stay in the spirit of the season by reading Luke every day and trying to remember to focus on Jesus through the season. No humbug for me either.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  8. So far I have... though I haven't done much decorating yet. Focus has been work, and getting Sam's quilt done when I'm not working. Maybe by the end of the week, I'll get to dragging the boxes out - I don't have much - a small tree and a few doo dads

  9. I am less Humbuggy than I have been in previous years! Our oldest son and DIL are here for a visit and the whole family gathered last night. Wow we are a huge group! It was such fun.

I love your tree. It is so sweet and symbolic of the spirit of Christmas. I hope your Christmas Season is as beautiful!

  11. My favorite time of year. I love the snow, the lights, the music, the anticipation of the children, the feeling of joy, the spirit of Christmas, giving away warm things I make (hats, mittens, slippers)...

  12. Yes Nancy. Even with my father's death, I see the creche and I celebrate. My father and mother had great faith. They join the little Savior this Christmas together. I am enjoying carols, and anyone and everyone's decorations.
