It's been said, that you can take the girl off of the farm, but you can't take the farm away from the girl. I grew up on a dairy farm and knew my mother and brother would enjoy seeing photos of this Japanese dairy barn and the cows.
The cows were well tended, but I didn't understand why they all had nose rings, as I had only seen nose rings on bulls at home.
Ahhh, they look sweet. I remember visiting a farm each summer and the farmer would squirt milk into our mouths (he was a very good aim!!). Did you ever find out about the nose rings?
Our girl is using dairy heifers for her Masters research project. She's fallen in love with them. She had never been around them before although we are known as the Southwestern Dairy Capital around here. There are lots of dairies in the valley.
Nancy. That's a great picture. How do the cows know to come in at night? Im serious. I want to know more about farming. The farms here in Wisconsin are busy places, with nice looking buildings. Some are decorated so sweetly for Christmas.
Great picture. I haven't been around farm animals much but I always love the peaceful scenes in photos and paintings. Now I'm curious about the nose rings too. Blessings, Betsy
Only the bulls so you could grab them if they got out of hand. Those look like calm girls so I wonder why too... kathy b Cows come it at night to be fed grain and hay and to be milked...they are hungry and their udders are full of milk so they like being milked:)
