Four-Patch Project

Pressing Four-Patch units
All the subcuts have been sewn into four-patch units. Shown in the plastic box and on the pressing table are 321 four-patch units. I'll sew some of them together into sixteen patch blocks.

2.5 inch strip bin
June 2016
When I started this project, the 2.5 inch strip bin was so full the lid didn't fit. Even by making the 321 four-patch units with strips from this bin, the bin reflects only a slight reduction. At this rate, I will never completely empty the bin or at least make a major dent in the 2.5 inch scraps.

  1. And to think that most of that would normally be thrown away.

  3. At least it looks like the lid will close now. That's progress...even if it doesn't feel like it.

  4. Looks like you have cloth scraps like I have sock yarn. On the other hand, no matter what we want to work on, we PROBABLY have what we need! LOL

  5. Fabric - like dirty laundry - multiplies when we aren't looking.

  6. That's pretty scary isn't it? I'm making an appliqué quilt at the moment. Thinking I would make a dent in my purple stash. Ha ha, can't even detect that I have touched it!

  8. With this move I'm beginning to ask myself where I will stop with the mounds of scraps. Good for you for putting yours to use. I've made several scrap quilts but the supply counties to grow. Looking forward to seeing this quilt evolve.
