Colorful Hitchhiker

adding simple eyelet lace every eighth row
June 2016
I'll admit that my knitting has taken a back seat to sewing this summer, but over the weekend, I got the urge to start another Hitchhiker scarf. This time, I'm venturing out of my usual comfort zone for color. Thanks to Noro's vivid colors, this scarf is definitely going to be cheerful and unique.

Pattern:
Hitchhiker by Martina Behm (Ravelry link)

Needles:
    US size 6

Yarn:
Noro Silk Garden Sock Yarn (color #S302)
    (40% wool, 25% silk, 25% nylon, 10% Kid Mohair)

Adaptations: on the eighth row of the pattern, I've added a simple eyelet lace: follow pattern for bind off, then (K2tog, YO) across the row. At the end of the row, follow the pattern's directions.

  4. Not being a knitter I'm always curious how the variegated yarn will behave in various projects. I'm usually surprised to see the colors pool and create secondary designs. This should be very pretty.

  11. I think it's going to turn out great. The first colors knitted up are fairly calm, but I see some bright pops coming up. Fun!
