Lately, I've been focusing on practical knitting. I had several small balls of scrap dishcloth cotton, so I paired them with solid white or cream to create striped dishcloths for Marilyn and Brenda.
I use the Magic Knot to join the scraps and to make a larger ball of yarn, but I don't trim the yarn close to the knot: I leave about a half inch tail.
They turned out really pretty with the colors mixed with white. Excellent gifts. I have some that I've been given over the years and they are nice to use.
The dishcloths look great! The yellow one looks like sunshine! I find you can never give anyone too many dishcloths. They are always grateful for them. I use the magic knot quite a lot. It really does seem like magic to me that it doesn’t come undone even after being trimmed. Blessings, Betsy
Hum... doesn't it leave a rather big knot in the yarn? Actually looking at the finished know it looks very small. I must remember this to give it a try one of these days.
