Another Free Little Library

Free Little Library

March 2016
I went for a walk a couple of weeks ago and spotted another Free Little Library in my community. This one is right next to the football field and track.

In 2014, I found a Little Library in Lander. There may be another Little Library near the Riverton golf course: I'll check it out one of these days.

Have you noticed any new Little Libraries in your community recently?

  1. Such a clever idea! I don't think we have any here in Mitchell yet, but the Sioux Falls newspaper ran a story (maybe last summer?) about a couple of them in Sioux Falls.

  2. I love these little libraries, though I've never seen one in person. We live so close to the public library that there's not really a reason for one in our neighborhood.

  4. First time I've heard of the Little Library organization. I've seen free libraries in coffee shops and thrift stores, but never in a little "stop" like this. I like it.

  5. That one is cute. There are a couple in a town near me, but at places like preschools. The city won't let just anyone put them up.

  6. Aren't these just great? We have these around our town and the surrounding areas.

  8. It wasn't in my community, but while I was on vacation, I found a new one by the marina in Dunedin, Florida.

I put in a book I had just finished and found a new-to-me author to try.

  10. I have seen these in NZ but none near me. If I didn't live down a private right of way I'd be tempted to start one.

  11. My DIL & son live in Fort Worth, TX. Several years ago I saved a newspaper article for her about the LFLs. Son immediately built one & he & the kids painted it with left over colors from their nurseries (lavender & green). It turned out so cute! They ordered their official sign & it was the 1st LFL in their Wedgewood neighborhood. Neighbors brought donated books and I sent some. Even the local State representative brought donations! A councilman, did as well. They've had a lot of fun with it, meeting new people & encouraging people to read. It's been a great success!

  12. I'm a huge fan of the free libraries. Books are so magical and when they are in a little display like that it really emphasizes it, non?
