Rose and Becky coloring mandalas
February 2016
Fargo, ND
Marilyn purchased an adult coloring book and some markers for our great-niece while we were in Fargo. We asked her to color a page for each of us to put on our refrigerators, and she happily started coloring.

Later, she asked her mom to color, too, and then asked Marilyn and me to "judge" the finished mandalas.

a gift from Sue
On Saturday, my friend Sue stopped by and surprised me with my own coloring book - one filled with quilt designs. I don't have markers or pencils, so I'll probably use crayons. Thanks for thinking of me, Sue: I love the book and the designs.

  1. I remember in elementary school our teacher would judge our coloring pages and put the best ones on display. I always wanted to "win" but never did. That wasn't a bad thing though. It made me try harder and learn how to make my coloring even more beautiful.

  2. Coloring is so fun and mindless. So nice to unplug and just veg sometimes. Enjoy and don't forget to share the pretties!

  3. How FUN!!!! My son gets home from teaching and he colors while he watches the Blackhawks or Chicago bulls games. he finds it very relaxing! Hope you do too

  4. Quilt designs? Couldn't be more appropriate! LOL Enjoy!

  5. What a perfect gift for you! I have several coloring books and colored pencils and markers...it is great fun! I used to love coloring with the kids when they were little:)

  6. I'm so happy you posted this because I have been coloring the adult coloring books since Christmas when our daughter gave me one. It is very relaxing and that's what I need right now!

  7. Oh that's lovely! I like how this one gift of coloring book sort of trickled it's happiness through the family :)

  8. How sweet. Enjoy your coloring book. :)
