Sakura Scarf
Cherry Blossoms "Sakaura" Misawa AFB, Misawa, Japan Spring 1980 |
While rummaging through my sock yarn stash, I found this skein of yarn that ironically is named "Cherry Blossoms."
In celebration of the Spring Equinox, I decided to knit a Hitchhiker Scarf - all garter stitch. Garter stitch is a delight to knit because it is lays well and feels good in the hands.
The pattern states to knit 41 "teeth," and I have only 13 left to knit.
Yarn:
Cherry Tree Hill (Cherry Blossoms) - sock yarn - 420 yards
Needles:
Addi Lace - US #2 - 24 inch circular
Pattern:
Hitchhiker by Martina Behm (Ravelry link)

Gorgeous yarn! Cherry blossoms are so amazing to see. I've been in Washington DC several times during Cherry blossom blooming and it just makes the heart happy to see them.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty yarn and how PERFECT for this time of year.
ReplyDeleteOh it is gorgeous. How fun to find that in your stash!!
ReplyDeleteI am a fan of sakura. I used to have a sakura bath bomb I was a fan of when i used to take baths. That was a million years ago. I have never seen sakura in Japan, but the cherry blossoms in DC are truly lovely.
ReplyDeleteThat yarn though, dreamy. I am a huge fan of the hitchhiker. super fun.
Beautiful yarn! The scarf is going to be lovely and over half finished. I love it when a project is on the downward slope.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Seeing this just made my day!
ReplyDeleteThe blossoms, the yarn, and the scarf are all beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI can just smell the aroma of the cherry blossoms, and the yarn is simply scrumptious, if yarn can even be scrumptious :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blossoms! That will be a real pretty scarf when you are done:)
ReplyDeleteI always thought I would enjoy knitting that scarf, but have never gotten around to it. It's pretty in this yarn.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cherry blossoms, and your scarf is going to be amazing. xo
ReplyDeleteLove it! Happy Easter, Nancy!
ReplyDeleteCherry blossoms are so lovely, aren't they? Your photo of them against the sky is amazing! Love your hitchhiker! Funny that you had cherry blossom in your stash! g
ReplyDeleteThat is my all-time favorite yarn in my all-time favorite colorway; the socks I knit from it several years ago are still my favorite pair.
ReplyDeleteI love your hitchhiker!
That yarn looks a lot like the cherry tree in bloom off of our deck. We've had a wonderful spring with all sorts of flowering trees and plants. Interesting pattern. Is it hard to knit the teeth?
