Stashbusting

Seventeen cotton washcloths

One of my goals this year is to reduce my yarn and fabric stash. These simple, knit washcloths (along with some toiletries) were donated to a group that provides for the homeless.

Pattern: Grandma's Favorite Dishcloth
Needles: size 8
Yarn: 100% cotton

  1. That is my goal this year, also. I finally realized that even though the fabric stash is mainly cotton I still could use it for other things beside quilts. So I am making bags, shirts, pillowcases etc. for the first time this year I added yarn to the stash, but that was because I didn't have any pink for a baby girl.

  2. It's always good to knit from the stash. Love those washcloths! I made some for us to use a few years ago. They hold up better than store bought and feel nicer, too.

  3. These are terrific gifts. My younger daughter made some for everyone in the family and for some of her friends. They have a good texture when scrubbing dishes.
