Susie's Summer Flower

Susie's Summer Flower
November Block

This block was easy to make, but it contains a LOT of pieces, most are 2-inch squares with a few rectangles. This is by far my favorite block of the series.

One more block and the Quilter's Neighborhood will be finished. The shop owner doesn't have any settings in mind for the blocks - she suggested seasonal table runners, but I won't be using them for that. Any ideas on how to set these blocks into an actual quilt?

  1. Pretty! There are still roses - and other flowers - blooming here at the beach.

  3. This block is my favorite, too. It's very different from the previous flower blocks, though...makes me wonder what the December flower block will be. I'll leave the setting suggestions to the quilters. It seems the shop owner would have had a plan in place for all the projects she suggested these blocks could be used for in the beginning. How disappointing.

  6. Hi Nancy -- Maybe you could break them up to make streets -- a house, a tree, a couple flowers. Then make an actual street to divide them -- black with a yellow stripe in the middle. I'm a pretty literal person some times but that is a thought. Now, did I actually see houses? I need to go back and look!
