Recording Progress

Converting my LPs is a long-term project, yet slowly I am making progress. Recently, added to my MP3 collection were these albums:

Rita Coolidge    Anytime. . .Anywhere
Mac Davis – Mac Davis Collection
John Denver – An Evening with John Denver (2 LPs)
Crystal Gayle – Classic Crystal
Hillside Singers – I’d Like to Teach the World to Sing
Kris Kristofferson & Rita Coolidge – Breakaway
Olivia Newton-John – Have You Ever Been Mellow
Peter, Paul & Mary – Album 1700
Helen Reddy – I Don’t Know How to Love you
Kenny Rogers -- Kenny
Kenny Rogers – What About Me
Diana Ross & The Supremes – Let the Sunshine In
Spanky and Our Gang – Spanky’s Greatest Hits
Barbara Streisand – Songbird
Barbara Streisand  – Wet
Donna Summer – The Wanderer
Top Star Festival – 20 Dynamic Hits (Vol. 2)
Tanya Tucker – You Are So Beautiful
Bobby Vinton – Bobby Vinton’s All-time Greatest Hits (2 LPs)
Dionne Warwick – I’ll Never Fall in Love

Some favorite songs from these artists include: "Day by Day," "I'm in Love with a Big Blue Frog," "Watching Scotty Grow," "She's a Mystery to Me," "You Never Miss a Real Good Thing," and "Blue on Blue."

The Mac Davis and Top Star Festival albums were produced by K-Tel. I remember ordering them after seeing the advertisement on TV, probably one of the first companies to market music that way.

I still have many albums to convert, but the stack is getting smaller.

Comments

  1. I haven't thought about the TV commercials for compilation music albums in a long time. They would play bits and pieces of the songs on the album and before I knew it, those bits melded together and became one song in my mind.

  3. What a trip down Memory Lane you have provided! All great music... they just don't make it like that anymore.

  6. Blue on Blue always reminds me of school dances and getting asked to dance by a boy I really liked. The Good Old Days?
