In the Queue

July 2022

Five projects are currently in my knitting queue: the Noro scarf, a pair of scrap yarn socks, the Redcliffe City socks, and two Baby Surprise Jackets (BSJ). The scarf should be finished tomorrow, the scrap socks (one finished and the mate at the heel flap), and the first Redcliffe sock is at the heel flap.

While cleaning the sewing room, I found a BSJ that needs shoulder seams and a collar added. The jacket came off the needles in 2020. I also need to sew buttons on this BSJ as well as a purple one that was finished in 2018.  I don’t know why I didn’t finish these BSJ years ago!

Currently, I seem to be in a mindset to get clear out lingering/stalled knitting projects, and they are out of bins and in a queue.

  1. I just finished up my longest living WIP and it feels great. I usually have lots of things on the go but for some reason I was down to only one oldie but goodie pair of mitts. They are in the history books as soon as I weave in all the ends and give the dusty things a wet blocking.

  2. Out of sight, out of mind! That has always been my problem with projects. Once I set them aside, they often get lost completely. Great job on getting these organized to finish.

  3. I've always wanted to make a BSJ and never have!

  4. Isn't it great to finishe projects that have long sat idle and unfinished? At 12:45 this morning I finished the huge blanket I was crocheting. I was determined to finish it before going to sleep becaue the humungous thing was so HOT to work on but we did need it on the bed. As we have company coming again for a few nights this week, I wanted to finish it and have it out of the way.
This morning I've been going through projects. I really need to get more mittens done but I'm not feeling it! Perhaps some embroidery? We'll see. I do have some socks on the needles as well. I usually have a pair going to work on at doctor appointments, etc.
I hope you have a great day Nancy!
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  5. Once things go into "time out" or somewhere else, it is so easy to loose track of them. Good for you wrapping up unfinished projects!

  6. You are doing great, sometimes we just forget about these lingering projects. I'm wondering what a BSJ looks like?

  7. Good for you to make a dent in your yarn UFOs and yarn stash. I laughed at your comments that you found nearly finished projects. It sounds like me and quilt ufos.

  8. Keeping them in sight will help tremendously to get them in the finished bin!

  9. Good for you! I sorted some yarn yesterday...some of which I know what the project was...others not so much. At least now my stash was sorted!
