Gemstone Stars - a beginning

Gemstone Stars
August 2021

This set of stars has taken a long time to complete not because they are difficult but because I just haven’t felt like sewing. I’ve worked on them during sporadic FaceTime calls since June, but at least they are finished and sewn together.

The star points are made from Jenny Beyer scraps leftover from Kismet. The fabrics I used for the star points remind me of topaz, amethyst, sapphire, and emerald, so I named this quilt Gemstone Stars. I need to add a frame and border before it is officially finished.

  2. Beautiful blocks! Hopefully your sewing mojo will slip back in place, and you'll be able to enjoy it again. Right now for me I seem to be sewing frantically every chance I get. So eventually I'll hit that wall of lack of interest again.

  4. A very pretty quilt top. I love all of the colors and that you see different things each time you look. Ive been so busy since getting home and I have to get busy and get some projects done soon. Christmas will be upon us and I won't be ready at all.
    Blessings,

  7. The name really does capture the quilt.
I cannot tell you how in awe I am of your quilting. I finally signed up for a beginning quilting class in October to see if I can learn to cut and sew straight!
