No Motivation . . .

Lately, it's been hard to get excited about doing anything. I spend my days reading. I can't find the motivation to knit or to sew.

Hopefully, I'll get something done this week to share with you.

  1. I think we are all going through this feeling at some point. I feel as though I am finally getting my reading mojo back, but it's been a long time coming!

  2. I am right with you. I have to force myself to do anything these days. If it wasn't for coming up with blog content I would just be staring into space all day. I can't focus on anything more than a few minutes. Daughter says everyone she knows at work is depressed. The kids are all crying and can't pay attention. What terrible times we live in. I have to keep reminding myself that they had it so much worse during WW2 so I shouldn't be complaining. At least my sons are not overseas fighting. They are sitting home on their laptops all day. Lol...

  3. Hear, hear! I've been such a slug. I will share a new-to-me Australian show I've been watching on YouTube--I think you will like it--- Murder Call. Lots of shows and lots of seasons so binge away!!!!

  4. So many people I've talked to lately are right there with you. I've spent more hours reading lately myself. A cousin sent me a big thick book in the mail. I opened it on Thursday late night when I couldn't sleep. And I finished it about 24 hours later - almost 500 pages. It was a good read, but I realized that I didn't get anything else done either. I'm back to writing lists for everything in order to keep myself going.

Maybe give her a listen . She was on somebody's blog and I need to give her credit....but I cant recall right this moment. You are loved Nancy. ALl of your quilting for Veterans amazes us all. THe sun just came out here and that really helps. Nancy you can always call me on the real phone if you wish ! LEt me know

  6. I knit and sew because I feel like I should, but not out of the desire that I usually have. I haven't read a book in ages because I just don't feel like it...and I'm an avid reader normally. Times are just strange, but you're not alone.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  7. I was so happy to see this post. I'd noticed you hadn't posted anything for 11 days! Yikes. So happy it is operator error rather than computer issues.(smile) Give yourself permission to goof off. We do tend to think we have to keep busy but there is no reason to not take some time to just sit. I've had my moments of blah. A couple of times I called my girlfriend and just chatting with her brought my spirits up. Have you been keeping up with Marilyn? (Your sister? I hope I have the name right.) You can always start small with -- one day I'll knit for 30 minutes. If it feels good do more or do more another day. No need to keep busy all the time. Take care and know that lots of people are thinking good thoughts for you. We look forward to your posts and comments.

  8. Hope your mojo comes back soon. I'm fine with knitting and cross stitching, but fine it very hard to settle into a book right now.

  9. I have been trying to get Christmas sewing started but I start thinking about how things will be at Christmas and get depressed. I have to admit that I have become a world class napper. I'm trying! I think we are all trying!! I'm offering up prayers for all of you.

  10. I was getting worried about you...I thoght maybe you were off visiting!
I know the down in the dumps feeling...the freaking leaves are my motivation this time of year. My craft projects have been on hold a week now.
    Be good to yourself!

  11. I left the blogging world for a while, but I've come back. Motivation was waning for me, too. But I missed it so! I hope that your creativity muse comes back soon.

  12. Nancy, we met several years ago. You and your sister stopped in Lincoln to see the local guild show. We had a huge QOV quilt display. I read you blog about everyday, I know you are still making QOV's. So if you will email me, I have an idea. Might help us both get over this disjointed feelings.
