Eye on the Sky

The weather man (Don Day) has predicted a winter weather system will hit this area tonight and all day tomorrow. In a recent interview, Day recalled that Laramie got hit by a fluke snowstorm this year on June 8. That storm dumped 10 inches on the community. “Laramie will only go 90 days between snowstorms this year,” he said. “Talk about a short growing season. This is truly 2020.”

Check out the temperature differences between today and tomorrow. It will be a good day to make a pot of soup and curl up with my knitting or a good book.

Laramie could receive 4 - 8 inches of snow. I just hope the trees can survive another onslaught of heavy, wet snow.

One good thing about this storm system - it should end the fire season for several Rocky Mountain states.

  1. There don't seem to be any happy mediums anywhere with the weather! No matter what, I hope you can stay comfy. Happy Labor Day.

  2. Wow!!! I am so ready for cooler temps but that is just crazy. It's been in the 60's here at night but that humidity is still in the 80's making it still icky out.

  3. I was just watching the forecast on tv for you--yikes! Bring in your yard art! Do you keep stocked up when you get storms or is it pretty routine?! Be safe!

  5. I’d like our temps to go down but not that far. Cool weather sounds good to me but 30 is a lot too cool. Enjoy soup and reading/knitting. LA county hit 121 in one area. What is goon on? CA could use a few big rains or even snowfall to blot out their fires too.

  6. This is freaky.
We are expecting freaky weather here tonight/tomorrow too--with winds from the East and temps in the 80s. On the Oregon Coast! What is happening???

  7. Certainly is crazy! My daughter met up (at my house yesterday) with a girlfriend who was visiting home from Cheyenne. She had planned to drive back on Tuesday, but decided to head home early this morning with her son so they wouldn't get caught in the snow. The Black Hills is expecting snow too, but we should only see rain here east river. Stay warm!!

  8. We have your wind today but not as cold. It was 91F yesterday and today is supposed to be 50. The wind is howling and it feels much colder. 50 mph gusts. Boy, is that fun in a trailer or what? I was outside ironing when the first gust hit this morning about 8:00. Needless to say, I came inside to finish. This year is the strangest I ever remember...for everything!
    Stay warm and safe.
    Blessings,
    Betsy
