The First Sighting . . .

I haven't seen any robins yet in the area around my apartment, but a pair of doves have been trying to build a nest on the top of the patio light. I don't think they will succeed, but at least they get an A for effort.

A couple of weeks ago, one of my neighbors had five deer outside her building, nibbling on the shrubs. A resident rabbit and squirrel family have been scurrying around the various trees, and a pair of crows have appeared by the hedge, but no robins.

  1. Oh dear!! That could be Tyg....

We do have robins and (thankfully) chickadees are appearing again. But, Fletch and I were saying the other day that we can't remember when we last saw any deer. And, I've only heard foxes sporadically.

  2. I had a whole flock in the yard the other day. Now I have a flock of turkey vultures that are driving me crazy. They sit on my outside tables and look in the window to see if I am bringing any food out for my out door kitties. The only upside is that give Pup something to chase. Since we can't walk her it's the only exercise she's getting. Lol...

  3. A squirrel and some blackbirds have taken over my bird feeder the past 2 weeks. We've seen the usual in our yard - deer, rabbits, robins, doves. But so far no wild turkeys. Normally we have a whole flock of turkeys that pass through the yard daily but I haven't seen them yet this spring anywhere in the neighborhood.

  4. Doves are notorious for trying to build nests in silly places

  5. I've been patiently waiting for hummingbirds to appear. Others have seen them but so far my feeder has been empty. I have seen some robins though.
    Blessings,

  7. The robins must all be in my yard. They are chubby ones too.

  8. I'm sure that you'll have robins soon! We also have deer in our yard, along with a fox.

  9. The robins are quite busy here since the soil got soft enough to work. They have sun gorgeous songs

  10. I have had hummingbirds all winter but not that it is getting hot they seem to have left. Can't say I blame them.

  11. We have lovely little yellow finches hanging around. We saw two vultures (or at least that is what we thought they were) sitting on the roof line of a house across the street. They had a huge wing span. My cousin in Washington state had a bunch of hummingbirds already. I must get my feeder ready.

  12. The Goldfinches came two days ago. We have only a few Robins that actually stay around. We had one that would nest here every year then one spring he came by himself and she never showed up:(:(
