Staying Busy

starting with a 500 piece puzzle
April 2020
Wanting a different distraction, I selected a puzzle (500 pieces) from the shelf in the garage and got to work. I haven't worked on a jigsaw puzzle in months, yet this one came together very quickly.

tackling a 1,000 piece puzzle
April 2020
After the smaller puzzle was assembled, I worked on a 1,000 piece puzzle of various china cups and saucers.

It was a challenging puzzle but fun, too.  I prefer puzzles with irregular pieces, and this puzzle's cut was ideal with small and large odd-shaped pieces.

I have several new puzzles stashed in the garage, so between them, my knitting, and my sewing, I should be able to keep myself busy, challenged, and entertained for several more weeks.

What kind of puzzles (jigsaw, word, number) do you like to tackle?

  1. Oh, between you and Araignee, I am being puzzle jealous!!!!
I haven't a single one here! Perhaps an Amazon order would be the ideal solution! Amazing job on the puzzles-they look difficult!

  4. I've been doing puzzles too. And my husband has actually joined in which is really funny because he normally has no patience for jigsaw puzzles. We just started #4 on Friday evening. And I dropped off the first 3 we did with a friend on Saturday afternoon. I brought my own glass of wine in a coffee travel mug and we sat outside on her patio about 10' apart to chat for awhile. It felt good to share the puzzles and talk to a friend in person.

  5. Jigsaw and word. I am terrible with numbers. Although I did figure out one of the Reader's Digest number puzzles. I was so proud of myself. LOL

  6. Word puzzles for me. I don't like jigsaw puzzles at all unless they're the ones I do with Piper with 100 pieces or less. I just don't have the patience. My sister loves them and always has one on the table.

  7. I haven't succumbed to jigsaw puzzles yet. Part of it is we took all (except 1) to the beach house for rainy day entertainment. I'm a huge fan of Words With Friends, the online scrabble-type game. Easy crosswords online and absolutely no, and I do mean NO, number puzzles. I am so not a numbers person.

  8. I just finished one and now I have ordered 6 or 7 more. I've lost count of how many I've bought. I like the 500 piece ones because I am working on the small end of my dining room table. The Mister took over the big puzzle table downstairs with his 1000 pieces. We've become very territorial with our puzzles...lol.

  9. Dont do jigsaws, the few times I've tried I found them so frustrating! You obviously take them in your stride and enjoy the challenge, good on you!

  11. Ohhh good for you. Fireman cannot stop once involved in a puzzle. But the cats love to whack it all around, so its tough to do. BUT you just gave me an idea for his birthday. He could work one one upstairs...the gate keeps the cats downstairs! WHEEEEEE
