forty-six pinwheel blocks November 2019 |
The pinwheel blocks are finished and squared to 7.5 inches. They're an odd size, but I wanted to keep them as large as I could. The main fabrics and colors are consistent, but the backgrounds (grey, tan, and a light lavender) are different and could present a challenge. I'm considering a dark sashing to pull them all together, but that may change when I start auditioning fabrics.
I have a couple of layout/setting ideas, but again, the sashing fabric may dictate what I actually do.
Am sure you are up to the challenge...
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of pinwheel blocks! Should make a very pretty and fun quilt.
ReplyDeletePinwheels are great in any size. I'm sure you will figure out just the right layout to showcase them.
ReplyDeleteI have always liked pinwheel blocks. It will look lovely, whatever you decide.

ReplyDeleteLots of Pinwheels, lets see what you come up with. Im sure it will bd great, whatever you decide.
ReplyDeleteOh! Such happy little pinwheels! They are my favorite block.
ReplyDeleteYou are so talented. I love seeing your creations. Fifty days until Christmas. :)
ReplyDeleteI think a dark sashing would look nice...but oftentimes what I think changes once I audition fabrics. LOL
ReplyDeleteI see two different quilts there in your squares...but I am certain you just see one! It will be fun to see what you end up with!
ReplyDeleteAre you pairing these blocks with some solid (or printed) squares in an 'every other' layout or all pinwheels? These look so good but the 46 has me puzzled for its layout !
ReplyDeleteYes for 7.5” blocks. I’m working on some 4” finished pinwheel blocks. Someone sewed all the spare triangles together but I’m trimming them and sewing into pinwheels. I’m copying the design idea from a quilt a friend showed me recently. It’ll work well with the little pinwheels. Can’t wIt to see what you do with yours.
