Binding Preparation
four bindings for Quilts of Valor March 2019 |
After I trimmed the quilts, I searched through the bin of backing scraps to find appropriate fabric for binding. The middle bundles will be used for the two recent quilts. The blue binding will be used for quilts still in the planning stage.
Hopefully, today I'll have the motivation to sew the binding on the two QOV.
How organized is that? Binding for me is always an afterthought.
ReplyDeleteEach quilt is just so much work!! You do an amazing job Nancy.
ReplyDeleteThey came just in time:)
ReplyDeleteDon't the bindings look pretty like that!? It would feel good to finish up a quilt, wouldn't it?
ReplyDeleteI am spoiled - while I'm quilting, Mom prepares my binding for me. When I take the quilt off the longarm, she sews it all on for me. I just have to tack it down on the back (which I love).
ReplyDeleteThis reminded me that I have to prep a binding for a quilt that is currently at my longarm quilter's. I always like seeing my bindings prepped and wrapped up ready to sew onto a quilt.
ReplyDeleteBinding quilt was always my nemesis. I absolutely loved making the quilt tops and I also enjoyed hand quilting them, but I detested putting binding on. I wonder why that is? I’m sure you’ll have it done in no time.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Betsy
It's always a good feeling to have the binding prepared early. And I quite enjoy doing the binding too, stitching it down on the back is quite a feeling of achievement
ReplyDeleteI don’t normally make my binding in advance but I often put fabric for the binding away or with the quilt until it is quilted. I like how you keep the binding organized. Good for you to get right on those bindings.
ReplyDeleteMy Mom likes the binding the best..she seems to enjoy sitting in her chair hand stitching the bindings.
ReplyDeleteeveryone who quilts impresses the heck out of me.
