Patriotic Stars

November 2017

These blocks have quite a history:

•  Marilyn gave me the panel in 2015 (post about that here), and I had every intention of using it before now.

•  In 2016, I finished two Quilts of Valor (Scrappy Lanterns and Cheerio), and they resulted in a lot of "waste" HSTs.

•  November 2017, the two components were discovered while cleaning, and I decided it was time to create some star blocks. I made fifteen patriotic stars from the HSTs and the panel blocks.

Marilyn, thanks again for the fabric and panel.

  1. Another great idea!! I love the way these look. Of course stars are my favorite kind of block.

  3. I love how patriotic you are! When I was in America for the first time I fell in love with Red, White and Blue quilts. I have some rows made by friends from the patriotic fabrics I bought back. I really must get around to stitching them together. They have been maturing in a cool dark place for about ten years.
They need to see the light of day.

  5. Those stars look great. And doesn't it feel good to put older scraps with a forgotten panel to create a quilt? It should be lovely.
