Cranberry Socks

Cranberry Socks
women's size 10
November 2017
Orange is not a color that I would pair with red and pink, but it doesn't look too bad when knit. The colors remind me of cranberries.

Yarn: Match 100 (#55143 - Rustic)
           75% superwash wool, 25% polyamid

Needles:  US size 2

Stitch count: 64 stitches for the cuff and 60 after the gusset

My great-niece made a delicious cranberry sauce for our Thanksgiving dinner. It went well with the Kalua turkey and the smoked turkey that she and her husband prepared.

My friend Julie makes a fantastic cranberry coffee cake. I have a recipe for cranberry bread, but I haven't made it in years.

Do you have a favorite cranberry recipe?

  1. Beautiful socks-I like the orange with the pink since I'm not a fan of pink, the orange balances it! The only way I like cranberries is craisins! lol

  2. Those socks look great! And I want to know about Kalua turkey!!

I love cranberries - I make a cranberry chutney (Fletcher's Mom's recipe) and a cranberry/orange relish (my Mom's recipe). And cranberry bread - so good. I want to try a cranberry pie.

  4. I think the socks look perfect!

I love cranberries. I don't know that I have any recipes that are not ones you could find online anyway.

  5. I love dried cranberries and eat them by the handful. And I make cranberry/orange bread and muffins often. My mom made a cranberry/orange sauce for holidays that was so pretty in the crystal dish. But I never liked the taste. It was too tart. Everyone else in the family loved it however.

  7. Beautiful socks. We mainly eat the cranberries out of a can. I’m not found at all of cranberry salads. A friend recently “made” me try Craisins and they weren’t too bad. Ha!

  8. I love old-fashioned cranberry sauce. I also think oatmeal is incomplete without craisins.

  12. I have a vanilla cranberry cake I have been meaning to try for a while, but I like to make an orange and cranberry tea cake. I can't make it as nicely as my friend, but it's still some a bright refreshing treat.
