No-Hair Day Hats

No-Hair Day Hats
Lion Brand Fun Fur yarn (Deep Sea)

This week, I knit three hats for local patients going through chemotherapy. The eyelash yarn (Lion Brand Fun Fur) was donated by a woman in the local charity knit group.

  1. I don't like to knit with novelty yarns a lot, but I do find them entertaining every once in a while. And making something like chemo hats makes me enjoy it more.

    These are all lovely!

  2. Those yarns are a bit crazy to work with. You really have to remember where you are in the pattern because all the stitches seem to disappear!

  3. Very cute! I'm not a knitter, but I have a small scarf knit with eyelash yarn which was a gift.

  4. No, it is too hard to see the stitches! I have not knit with them only crochet and it was a struggle:)

  5. Those are so cute!! I think that yarn would annoy me though...I'm not much for novelty yarns.

  6. Wow, those are delightful hats. What fun and joy they will bring. I use novelty yarns in the twiddle mitts. They add texture and color

  7. Great idea for that FunFur yarn-I should check it out because I had quite a few skeins given to me! How much of a misery was it to knit it?

  8. I've used that yarn -- eh -- not my favorite.. The hats look great though. How many skeins does a hat take?

  9. Those are such great hats and I'm sure will bring cheer to the recipients. I don't use novelty yarns very much but love the things people make with it.

  10. How kind of you - and sure to be appreciated. I'm a cancer survivor myself, although I didn't lose my hair. If I had, I'm sure I would have loved one of these little hats.
