Scrappy Mountain Majesties is a free pattern by Bonnie Hunter. I made this quilt out of a batik layer cake I purchased on Craftsy: Tonga Treats - City Lights. Some random yardage of other batiks was used to make additional the blocks and to add the border.
Scrappy Mountain Majesties 59 x 72 inches Quilt of Valor
Oh so very pretty. I really seem to lean towards the quilt patterns with very sharp edges --- Bear Paw, star patterns. This one is lovely in the batik fabric.
I like that a lot, and it makes me want to go down and work on my own blocks right now. I have made only 4 so far, but they are sitting right next to my cutting mat, ready to work on.
It looks wonderful - and batiks are so special. And..... in another life I had a holiday in Tonga - and remember getting bitten by mosquitoes with a terrible reaction so I needed to go to the docs!
I love this quilt! I do NOT have an eye for color. I think that something quilters have to have and you most definitely DO have that eye for color my friend. My imagination would never have put those colors together but the end result is amazingly pretty. Blessings, Betsy

BEAUTIFUL!!! Love this one (what's not to love about mountains?). The Batiks just shine in this.

ReplyDeleteOhhhh I like this one too! Reminds me that I have that quilt cut out, and need to get it sewn up!
ReplyDeleteGreat result. Linda and I have both made this quilt pattern and it does give a very clever result.
ReplyDeleteI love the red in yours, great colours all round.
Is this a keeper or a gift?
The colors and design are perfect for autumn!
