Slouch Hat #2
Slouch Hat September 2016 |
I had enough yarn left from the first Slouch Hat to knit another. Wow, did the yarn have a surprise in store for me: it striped completely different. The first had a lovely swirl, and this one wanted to be more bold with zig-zags. I rotated the hat and snapped photos to show the striping.
I still have a bit of yarn remaining, but it's going in a bag with other scraps. It will tell me someday what it wants to become.
All the zig-zags swirled together at the top. It's been gifted to a knitting buddy that liked the way the yarn pooled and striped.
Great job it is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHa! I really like this one too. So different than the first. Yarn often does what it wants to do - lol.
ReplyDeleteThe differences in the two hats, from the same pattern and the same yarn, are amazing--rather like children from the same family!
ReplyDeleteLooks like lightning bolts! LOL Pretty hat. I had a sock blank with those colors.
ReplyDeleteI was also thinking lightning bolts. Pretty hats!
ReplyDeleteInteresting:)
ReplyDeleteIts sorta like it had a mind of it's own...:) They are one of a kind hats... that will be enjoyed I'm sure!!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! I like how Kristi said it's rather like two children from the same family. It's amazing how different they are but both are so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy

ReplyDeleteThat's pretty cool. I wonder if you worked from the other end of the skein to get this?
ReplyDeleteHad to go back to see the other one... weird how different they are.
