Mini Shop Hop

Try as I might, I could not resist purchasing yarn on a recent trip to Denver. My sister's neighbor (also a knitter) planned an outing to several yarn shops. The skeins on the left and the two balls on the right were found in the Clearance bin in the last shop we visited - a bargain too good to pass. The yarn bowl and its contents came from another shop, and the navy sock yarn on the right from the first shop we visited.

My area doesn't have a yarn shop, so it was exciting to visit so many shops in one day.

Shops visited:
Showers of Flowers Yarn Shop - Lakewood, CO
Recycled Lamb - Golden, CO
A Knitted Peace - Littleton, CO
Colorful Yarns - Centennial, CO

  1. Exciting! I'm curious whether you've visited Cowgirl Yarn in Laramie? A friend of mine says good things about it.
    Happy Fourth!!! xo Tammy

  6. Well I think you showed great restraint after 4 yarn shops! I enjoy popping into 'new to me' shops I encounter while traveling.

  8. That was not a mini yarn crawl. It was at least a mini-maxi, and all beautiful yarn. Enjoy. Can't wait to see the knitted results.

  9. Isn't it wonderful to treat yourself sometimes? I live in an area that doesn't have a yarn store either, so I take advantage of opportunities to shop when I'm in larger cities. You made lovely choices, by the way!

  10. Having an opportunity to actually feel the yarns before you buy is nice. Looks like you made some good buys. Love the new yarn bowl. Looks like it is a pretty good size. Might even be able to put some worsted weight in there.

  11. Beautiful... and I totally relate. I am fascinated by the large/tall yarn bowl. Is it big enough for worsted weight?
