  1. How interesting. I didn't know that about the bones and ashes or about the purpose. Memorial for people who had no one to mourn them - makes me feel humble.

  5. Beautiful and creepy. I love that it honors - and remembers - those with no one to mourn for them. My friend who died in May worried that being a childless, only child, there would be no one to care for her in her old age. That became a non-issue, but I definitely mourn her passing.

  6. The Japanese revere their ancestors -- I think more than Americans do. Maybe I'm off on that thought but ...
