Fiber Fest 2014
Fremont Fiber Arts Guild Fiber Fest 2014 Riverton, WY |
Bea R. and Sheri H. help assist two new knitters |
Laura B. leads a demonstration in drop spindle |
Several men attended the event and seemed to enjoy trying the drop spindle and rug twining as well as observing the wheel spinning demos. |
Although the crowd seemed smaller this year, the event was well attended. County 10 published an online story and photos about the event here.
I had fun experimenting (let's just say I'll never be a spinner) with some new crafts, demonstrating twining to several interested individuals, visiting with old and new friends, and enhancing my stash a bit.
Looks like a great event!
ReplyDeleteMaybe you can't spin, but did you buy? With yarn vendors there, surely you came home with a bit of fiber!
Ohhh Stash enhancement! what fun. Someday I'll try to spin. ......
ReplyDeleteI'm still trying to knit!
Nice post on the event! I think it all went well.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you Nancy! I have given up on spinning, but I think I would enjoy weaving if I ever find a reasonably priced loom. It looks like you had a wonderful day! The woman standing beside the table teaching knitting reminds me of my mom's best friend who taught me to knit at age 9. It makes me want to go out and find a young girl (or boy) to teach how to knit.
ReplyDeleteLove the Fiber Fest recap! Looks like it was a lot of fun:) I'm drooling looking at that yarn!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lot of temptation there and fun, too. We have a place called Fremont also!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun day....Brian would of loved it too...he does want to learn to knit:)
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! The Knight could spin if he was so inclined... but he isn't. I missed both local-ish fiber fests over the past two weekends.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun day! I would love to learn how to use a drop spindle:)
ReplyDeleteI would have been like a kid in a candy shop and I would have wanted to learn it all! What a fun event!
