I am happier with Kismet now that the outer border has been changed. I liked the "before" flimsy, but with all the brown, it was "muddy" to my eye. The black border allows the pumpkin blocks to shine a bit more.
The backing and binding fabric should add a bit of spark to the quilt, too.
The dark border really was a huge difference. This is a good lesson in color for all of us. The medium color looks good but the dark looks even better.

The black gives it the punch it needs for sure:)
ReplyDeleteYou were right! The pumpkins in the patch are now perfect. Much easier on the eyes

ReplyDeleteI still like the brown, I must be weird:)
ReplyDeleteVery nice both ways but the brown is more masculine. I like them both!
ReplyDeleteYou're onto it. That looks super.
ReplyDeleteGreat choice. Love the black.
ReplyDeleteMuch nicer ---- it's a good eye you have.
ReplyDeleteWhat a difference a border makes. It's much like matting art in a frame, eh?
ReplyDeleteDefinitely looks better with the darker border fabric. I thought they were ornaments. Oops... pumpkins it is!
