Stash Knitting

May 2023

This month I’ve been focused on fabric scraps and stash knitting because I hope to get both under control. Since April, I’ve knit four pair of socks - all knit with Patons Kroy Socks, so that’s EIGHT balls of yarn (a pair of socks requires two 50 gram balls) out of my yarn stash.

This pair used Brown Rose Marl (#55017) and I had 28 grams remaining (13 grams for one sock and 15 grams for the other). I love the colors and of course, I love the stripes!

  2. I really like the color of those socks. I've never seen it at our stores here. I'm trying to use out of stash too but it doesn't seem to be getting any smaller.

  4. That's a pretty pair too.

Our Joann's carries Kroy. I just wish they would get more than the same three colors over and over.

  7. What pretty colors. Good for you for sticking with stash. I've been trying to work from stash on some smaller projects. It feels good to move some of the yarn along.

  8. I'm impressed that you've knit 4 pairs of socks in such a short time. Do you use smaller needles on your cuffs? I don't think mine are so small in relation to the foot part. I've been using some of my yarn with doing the hat frame knitting. It doesn't take all that long to do a child/teenager size hat and the toddler hat I can do in one sitting or a couple of hours. I still have quite a bit of sock yarn left. One of these days I'll knit another pair. Have a great week.
