Such a heart breaking sight. My SIL did two tours of Iraq and I always wonder how his mother dealt with it. The only war death I've experienced is a high school friend who committed suicide after returning home from VIet Nam. You'd think after all this suffering we'd learn that no one really wins.
One of my former students - just slightly younger than my girls - was killed in Iraq while serving. And a guy just ahead of me in high school was killed in Viet Nam. Both were such shocks. We feel so insulated here in the US, until we aren't.
When I was in high school, the son/brother of my parent's friends was killed in Vietnam. If I remember correctly, he was the first from Cheyenne to die. He was a medic.
I wish cemeteries. like this were not needed but glad Wyoming has provided one when it was. When will we, and the world, ever learn. There are NO winners in war. Blessings, Betsy
It is an amazing and sobering sight to see the grave markers all line up like that. Grateful for the brave men and women who gave their all for their country.
Sigh. I agree with Delighted Hands and others... sad and beautiful. I've been to Arlington National Cemetary and we have a Civil War era cemetary in our county. So many lives lost.
