Perth Socks - off the needles

Perth socks
May 2021

I finished the socks knit with the Perth (Great Barrier Reef) yarn on Friday afternoon. The yarn clearly produced a pair of fraternal twins, but close enough to complement each other.

The socks were started in March and a preliminary review of the yarn was posted here. The final test for this yarn will be how well it reacts to being washed and worn.

  2. That is a beautiful gradient. I am spinning some fiber that is very similar and really enjoying it. I hope it knits up as lovely as those socks.

  3. They turned out very nice.

I was at a knit shop in New Jersey last week and they had this brand of yarn. I thought of you immediately. I didn't end up buying any. I found an Urth yarn that I liked a bit more and it was Christmas colors. Well ..... just say SOLD! It was Christmas colors. LOL

  5. The color made me think "cinnamon" and I'm not really sure why since they aren't brown. Very pretty colors.

  9. I’d say these socks look very well matched. The cuffs are really the only place they need to match if you ask me. I’m trying to get myself making a baby blanket with some yarn I unraveled from a sweater. Nothings happened since my first try.

  10. Beautiful socks! I also think they remind me of a campfire. I had never heard of the yarn before you told us about it but I think I'll be watching for it now. I like how the colors fade into each other.
    Blessings,
    Betsy
